What is Papi AI?
Papi AI is an AI dating wingman for iPhone. It reads the conversation you're already in, suggests replies, coaches your profile photos, translates foreign-language threads, and runs hands-free in voice mode. It does not message anyone for you — you stay in the driver's seat.
How do I use it?
Download the app, pick Papi or Mami as your coach personality, and either screenshot the conversation you're stuck on or paste the profile you're staring at. Papi drafts options — you pick, edit, send. No account required to start.
Is it free?
Yes — there's a free tier of 3 uses / day so you can try every feature before paying. No login required to start.
How does the paid plan work?
Two options. Weekly: $3.99 / week (3-day free trial). Lifetime: $29.99 one-time — one payment, unlimited use forever. Both unlock unlimited replies, voice mode, photo coach, and translation. Cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — the Weekly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. You're not charged until day 4. Cancel during the trial and you owe nothing.
Is my data private?
Yes. Papi does not sell your data, does not use it for ads, and does not train models on your messages. Voice recordings are deleted after they're transcribed. Photos are deleted after the AI analyzes them. Chat history stays on your device + our database tied to an anonymous device ID until you delete it. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Can I use Papi for non-dating conversations?
Yes — texts to friends, family group chats, awkward work DMs. The tone shifts to whatever the context calls for. It's built around dating but the brain works on any conversation.
Is Papi AI for women too?
Yes. The dual avatar system lets you pick Mami (for women / hyped girlfriend energy) or Papi (for men / unbothered bro). Same underlying coach, different voice and pacing. About half our users run Mami.
How does screenshot reply work?
Tap the screenshot button, grab a screenshot of any dating app conversation (Hinge, Tinder, Bumble, IG DMs, anything), and Papi OCRs the screen, figures out who said what, and drafts the next message. Edit before you send — Papi is a wingman, not a ghostwriter.
What is voice mode?
Hands-free coaching. Press the mic and talk through the situation — 'she said this, what do I say back' — and Papi responds out loud. Great for while you're getting ready, driving, or just don't want to type.
How does the screenshot translator work?
Drop a screenshot of any conversation in any language and Papi translates it AND drafts the reply in the original language, with cultural context. Useful if you're matching abroad or with someone whose first language isn't yours.
What data does Papi collect?
An anonymous device ID, the chat messages you send into the app, voice recordings (deleted post-transcription), photos you submit for the photo coach (deleted post-analysis), and Apple in-app purchase receipts. We do NOT collect: email, real name, phone number, contacts, location, or browsing history.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. In-app: Settings → Reset Everything wipes your full chat history and per-match memory. Or email support@papiai.co with your device ID (Settings → About) and we'll erase server-side records within 30 days, free of charge — required by GDPR and CCPA.
When is Android coming?
On the roadmap. iOS first to nail the experience. Drop your email on the support page if you want to be notified when Android lands.
I have a problem / bug — who do I talk to?
Email support@papiai.co with the device model, iOS version, and what you were doing when it broke. Real human responses within 48 hours, usually faster.
